Republicans pick Tampa, Fla., for 2012 convention

Florida's transvesite hookers are probably happy about it though.

Tampa was the de facto headquarters of the John Birch Society back when my dad lived just outside in Clearwater. A Republican convention constitutes a shift to the left for Tampa.

Sorry, Taktix. Fortunately our swampish homestead is probably outside the primary zone of destruction.

Poor Floridians. Tons of filthy poison toxic sludge threatening to stink up the state, and there's that Gulf of Mexico oil spill too.

Oh, so for some reason I thought you were in the Lesser Tampa Area. So you're down in the Yankee Riviera?

Who got the bright idea that a bunch of people wearing suits should congregate in Florida in August?

I think we should hold all political conventions in low-lying areas of New Orleans. And pray for hurricanes.
Aww, I was waiting for a chance to make a "speculum with a pistol grip" comment.

EDIT: Speaking of whom, where is TIO? Has he become nominate?

I think if you were to "average" Floridians, the average would be pretty normal. However, it just happens that the actual Floridians making up the sample lie at the super bonkers extremes. I guess they have no hippies though.

My observation of the FL population is that it consist of 40% college students and 40% retirees. A contentious combination, especially on the roads.
