One of the guys on the homepage of this website looks uncannily like one of my boyfriends from when I was in college. Like, I really think it could be him. I've studied the photo and I'm pretty sure it might be. Although he was never really a sports fanatic. Well, he was into hockey. But it's not like I was constantly battling sports for his attention or anything. Maybe he's just a website model now.

As for the lady in the website, if she thinks her boyfriend spends too much time on his hobbies and not enough time on her, she should either find a new boyfriend or find some hobbies of her own to pursue which he doesn't share.

After skimming through the interview with the lady, she sounds like either an attention whore or batshit insane. She claims to hate fantasy sports because they ruin appreciation for real sports fandom? Jesus. Some people go out of their way to look for reasons to be pissed off.

Ehhh, I think the whole thing is a marketing ploy to sell t-shirts. Her schtick is to tap into that whole "you know how our husbands/wives always (blah blah blah)" vein of crap. She's like the anti-Tim Allen, and since that stuff sells, why not use it to sell t-shirts.

It's actually a common complaint. I didn't jump into the fantasy pool for a long time because I didn't want any ounce of me rooting for anything at any time that might be bad for the Redskins...
I found that I don't have a lot of problems with the conflict. ...it's like if they're on my team, they're Redskins in a way. And the hierarchy never changes. The Redskins always come first. If I'm up against a team one week with the Redskin RB, I'm still rootin' for him to score. ...fantasy always comes second.
...but I think I'm very unusual that way. And for young people who are just getting into the sport, via fantasy, I don't think they'll do that. They'll be fans of whoever's on their fantasy team rather than any team--hometown or no hometown. ...and that changes fandom dramatically.
Oh, and I've had a girlfriend or two who couldn't seem to get their heads around the fandom thing. They'd purposely schedule things during Redskins' games--always putting up the test. When they saw me get enthusiastic about anything that didn't have something to do with them, I don't know if jealousy was the right word...
I want to be with someone who has passions that have nothing to do with me. ...and I want to be given opportunities to share in them. So I guess I've got a test of my own now... For three hours every Sunday, for four months of the year, I have something that I'm really enthusiastic about. If she can't deal with that, then I guess we don't belong together.
