...But we did play a session of indie RPG 3:16 via Skype and Xlite and had the sick desire to post the two-hour recording for public listening. (We being myself, Squidlord and Dr. Fishkisser of Operation BSU, as well as our Aussie immigrant friend Raymond. Gee, a guy from Oz named Raymond - the shock.)
3:16, subtitled "Carnage Amongst the Stars", is a not-terribly-tactical RPG for playing a military force sent to wipe out all other life in the universe in order to protect the Earth. We poked at it, and it seems suitable for playing anything from Warhammer 40,000 Space Marines slaughtering the minions of Chaos to hapless Imperial Stormtroopers discovering the horror that is the Ewoks.
Especially after this session, however, I'm very much reminded of the webcomic Gone with the Blastwave. In the session, we ran through character generation (which was quick) and a first mission (which was also quick) where we bumbled through but managed to complete ...at least from our point of view.
Next time, we'll have to post screen shots of the program we used to track the battles, especially as we'll have individual character pictures. :)

Don't know why that went as a comment...
Re: We Didn't Fire Magic Missile at the Darkness
We forgot to take screenshots, but here are Alex's prep notes on the sessions, in reverse livejournal order. The first two are basically the same material as presented (aside from things we missed, like, er, the civilians needing evacuation in the first installment), but the most recent couple of posts also include his GMing strategy notes for the third and fourth session (for those interested in that sort of thing).
