Jadagul is about to leave Los Angeles for a place with bad food and bad teeth. We need to send him off right, and since there are some grylliaders in the LA area I say we need a gryllicon.
We need a venue. The two places that come to mind right now are Claremont (where Jadagul is) or Pasadena (reasonable drive from Claremont and from where I live in West Covina). In Claremont there's a nice Lebanese restaurant with a patio, and in Pasadena there's a Brazilian restaurant that I really like (Malagueta). We'll take other suggestions as well.

I'll try and make it, but my wife and I share one car, so it partly depends on if my wife needs the car that day for work. At this point though I don't have work myself that day, so it's a good possibility.

In Claremont, I like Casablanca (Middle Eastern place, not TOO pricey, and nice patio). In Pasadena I like Malagueta (Brazilian place, similar prices, good food, right on Colorado Blvd). I'm open to any and all alternative suggestions.

Sadly, I had to take work that afternoon. With the 2 to 2 and 1/2 hour drive, I'd probably make it just as y'all are winding down. So unless it's somewhere like San Juan Capistrano or Dana Point (which would just be silly), I'm out. Sorry not to catch you before you go, Jadagul. You dancing fool you.

My contributions: I'd marginally prefer 1) a further-west meeting (so I'd rather Pasadena or someplace than Claremont, despite the fact that I live here), and 2) (uncharacteristically) that it not be too late. Seven-ish definitely sounds good to me, and Malagueta looks pretty cool as well.

I was thinking about advertising this event to any LA-area UO commenters as well. Any objections? Right now the only attendees are me and my wife and Jadagul, so it might be fun to expand the blog party a bit.
