why take a "huh huh" comic and turn it into a game? i can see the "why not" and all, but i am confused as to why anyone would pay money for it.

These are people who went to a convention for said comic. Rationality (or maybe frugality?) isn't one of their strong suits. It's more of an identity thing than anything else.

Or it's a pretty good webcomic that some of us have been reading since the beginning, mostly for free, and are glad to see the guys succeed and perhaps want to play a relatively inexpensive game that also happens to give Mike & Jerry a little scratch in appreciation of their efforts.

I just figured if it's a decent game, then it's a decent game, regardless of what its origin was. Not that I will probably buy it anyway, not being much of a gamer these days, but it's cool to see them giving some love to the Mac and Linux users.

So comic producers are to be faulted for the behavior of retarded fanboys? I'm willing to take full responsibility for my retarded fanboyism, for the record. I mean, it's not Mike & Jerry's fault that I sometimes say "Yes we wang".
I've even been meaning to make it to PAX, as E3 doesn't exist anymore it might be the biggest open-to-the-public gaming show, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Also, I'm a lot farther from Seattle than I used to be.
