Just got Radicals for Capitalism...

It was even autographed by Brian Doherty himself! Radical!

Finished reading Chapter 1, and it's pretty good summary of the influences of the libertarian movement pre-1950: Tucker, Spooner, Nock, The Old Right, etc...
Good stuff so far.

I got a renewal thing the day after I got my copy that offered a signed copy at a reduced price. Unfortunately, I haven't had time to read it since I've been so busy/lazy lately. But I'm still angry that I didn't get a signed copy. It would have gone on the shelf with my signed copy of Wigfield, the Can Do Town that Just Might Not.

Re: Just got Radicals for Capitalism...

Just finished it...wow.
First several chapters were kinda laid back, since most of the people I already kinda knew, but about halfway it just got really wiggy...
Leonard Read and his FEE buddies and other chamber of commerce squares tripping out on acid before the hippies, Karl Hess and his full-blown revolutionary fervor of wearing Castro-like attire, and Rothbard and his anarcho-capitalist gang being all anarchy-like...it's quite a lot to swallow, but it gets me a better idea where the movement has been and is now...

Very good read, and if you're reading Brian, thank you very very much!!!

I just finished reading it, and it was indeed a great book. Especially the stuff about the Spiritual whatever organization with that British acid head mystic. Damn I wish I had been around then.
